UPF Team Welcomes New Employees Once Again
Viwanna Buck has joined the UPF team in Engineering as a CAD Drafter.
Viwanna has a strong background in creating and checking 3-D CAD models for a variety of products. She was a Mechanical Designer/Drafter for MicroE Systems, where she created drawings for customer products in both 3-D and 2-D formats. She prepared and updated models, drawings and BOM’s per Engineering change orders. Viwanna also worked for Agfa Corporation for many years as a Mechanical Engineer I. Viwanna posses a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, as well as a Certificate of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Doug Urquhart has joined the Engineering team as an Engineering Document Controls & Release Specialist.
Doug’s position is newly created and will help provide a stronger connection between our Sales and Engineering teams to improve order flow efficiencies and customer experience. Since graduating from Salem State University, Doug has held a variety of positions across various fields. He recently made the decision to enter the engineering industry after obtaining a Computer Aided Drafting Certificate program at Northern Essex Community College. Doug’s most recent position was with Bath Iron Works in Brunswick Maine, where he held a position as an Electrical Designer on the US Navy DDG Destroyer program.
Alan Gove has joined the Engineering team as a CAD Designer.
Alan joins the UPF team with a deep work history as a mechanical designer performing electro-mechanical packaging. His most recent position- as a Mechanical Designer at Janis Corporation in Woburn, MA- involved generation of complete drawing packages. These included details from main assemblies all the way down to bill of materials. His work has been primarily with AutoCAD, but he has also had training in Solidworks 3D modeling.
Neil Godin joined UPF as Production Manager for the MA team.
Neil earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Franklin Pierce University and his Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. Most recently, Neil served as Production Manager at Lemaitre Vascular in Burlington, MA. Prior to that, Neil worked as a Process/Quoting Engineer for Altronics Manufacturing and a Manufacturing Supervisor for RWE Schott Solar. Neil also served as an RF and Metrology Technician for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mitch Van Buren joined UPF as Production Supervisor for the FL UPF team
Mitch joins UPF with a solid background in manufacturing that includes 9 years with PWP Industries as Plant/Extrusion Manager and experience as a Production Supervisor at companies in the plastics industry, including Letica Corporation and American Plastics Industries. He also served in the U.S. Army for 11 years. At the time of his Honorable Discharge, he was a Staff Sergeant at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri, where he was responsible for as many as 400 soldiers.
